Our founder, Chase Tyler, has designed costumes for Blue Man Group for many years. We just designed and made Calypso costumes for new material going into many of the long running Blue Man Group shows.

Blue Man Group Band Costumes


The Work Room builds the Blue Man Group band costumes. The costumes are built to withstand the constant movement of the band members. They must be strong, durable and able to be washed over and over again.

Disco Ball Suit


This disco ball suit was created for Blue Man Group's live touring show. The suit is made of individual pieces of mirrors sewn into the suit of the guitar player. The Work Room also produces all Blue Man and Blue Man Band costumes.

Live Wire Dress



This dress was created for Blue Man Group's first live tour. Worn in this photo by Annette Strean from Venus Hum, the dress was built to pulsate light along with the music.

Mix-Master-Mustard Costume


Mix-Master-Mustard was originally created for an advertising campaign to promote the opening of Blue Man Group's Chicago production. The character came back to life years later when the images were used for another online campaign created by Blue Man Group for the theonion.com, which ended up being one of the most successful campaigns theonion.com had hosted at that time.

Grayscale Dress for Animation


We've built many versions of the live wire dress for Blue Man Group through the years. This version is a replica of the pulsating wired dress in grayscale, so it can be easily animated in post-production.

Live Wire Costumes




Live Wire costumes were built for the Blue Man Group band members. The top photo shows the costumes live on stage during the 2011 Blue Man Group Tour. The bottom photo shows a behind-the-scenes look of the intricate wiring up close.

Floppy The Banjo Clown


Floppy The Banjo Clown is a fictional character created for the Blue Man Group's Megastar Tour. Floppy was featured in various videos and even had his own website and merchandise line.
